The 100% Electric Hummer Will Finally be GMC

General Motors will launch the all-new Hummer under the GMC banner next year. But beware, we are not talking here about the large, polluting sport utility of the past. We are betting above all on the arrival of a whole new generation of 100% electric Hummers.

The model had to benefit from its own banner. It was also due to be officially unveiled in the spring of 2020. But the current situation prevented GM from following through on their plan, so the unveiling will ultimately be postponed until the fall. No date has been set, however.

100% Electric Hummer Not Official Yet

Although the model has not yet been officially unveiled, a lot of information has been circulating. Thus, we already know that the large sport utility will have extraordinary capabilities. It will have a registered power of 1,000 horsepower, which is more powerful than all other GM vehicles. Best of all, it'll benefit from an all-time high of 11,500 lb/ft of torque.

Thus equipped, this large vehicle should be able to reach 0-100 km per hour in less than three seconds. Which, you understand, is almost as fast as the next-gen Chevrolet Corvette Stingray.

To do this, it can count on Adrenaline mode. As the name suggests, this mode is intended to increase the power of the vehicle. But off-road enthusiasts won't be disappointed, as the electric Hummer will also feature crab mode to maximize all-wheel drive.

New Ultium Battery

Powered by GM’s new Ultium battery, the all-electric Hummer is expected to have a total range of 645 kilometres. And to look even better, it should also get things like a removable roof, like the Jeep Wrangler.

But don't rush straight to your ALBI Chevrolet Buick GMC Corvette Laval dealership to book it. The GMC Hummer EV will be offered as a 2022 model year. And it is not expected to be sold in Canada until the fall of 2022. Please be patient!
